What is schema markup?
Schema markup is structured data in the schema.org vocabulary that describes what a page is about: a business, a product, an article or a set of questions. JSON-LD is the format Google recommends: one <script type="application/ld+json"> block, separate from your HTML.
It doesn't guarantee rankings or rich results. It makes facts about the page unambiguous for search engines and AI systems, and for some types makes the page eligible for rich results in Google.
Pick a schema type
Each type has its own generator page with a worked example and what Google shows for it today:
- FAQ Schema Generator (Rich result retired): Google stopped showing FAQ rich results on 7 May 2026, so FAQPage markup no longer earns expandable questions in Search; it still describes your questions and answers to search engines and AI systems.
- LocalBusiness Schema Generator (Google rich result): Google can use LocalBusiness markup for the business knowledge panel and carousels it shows in Search and Maps, with details such as hours, address and phone, though it doesn't guarantee they appear.
- Organization Schema Generator (No rich result): Organization markup has no rich result of its own; Google uses it to understand your organisation and it can influence the logo and knowledge panel shown in Search.
- Service Schema Generator (No rich result): Google has no rich result for Service markup; it's a schema.org type that describes what you offer, who provides it and where, for search engines and AI systems.
- Product Schema Generator (Google rich result): Google can show product snippets (price, availability, ratings) and merchant listings from Product markup; it needs a name plus an offer or real ratings.
- Article Schema Generator (Google rich result): Article markup helps Google show the right headline, image and dates for your article in Search; Google lists no required properties, only recommended ones.
How the generator works
- Every form comes from Google Search Central's structured data docs and schema.org, linked on each type page.
- The JSON-LD preview updates as you type, with warnings for missing required or recommended fields and invalid URLs, dates and numbers.
- Text is escaped so it can't break the script tag, even if it contains
</script>. - Your entries are saved in this browser only; use Reset to clear them.
- The Rich Results Test and Schema Markup Validator buttons just open those tools: paste your code there.

- Copy the script tag and paste it into the page's <head>, or just before </body>.
- On WordPress, Shopify or Webflow, use the page's custom code field or your theme's header code.
- Make sure every value matches what visitors see on the page.
- Test the live URL, then request indexing in Google Search Console.
